To be a scientist . . .

Through the microscope, a world unseen,

explodes into sight,

invisible becoming visible,

unperceived ubiquitary giving way to realization.

Translucent slime, filling the tube,

turns out to be alphabet soup, G’s, T’s, C’s, and A’s,

the Designer’s genetic code for life.

I boasted of knowledge of all that can be touched and seen,

oblivious to a world beneath

too wonderful for a mere mortal, me.

Can these things be,

impossibilities even in a universe imagined?

Indeed, my eyes have seen, the rumors are true.

I have seen God, in the mirror of His creation.
